warning

WARNING: an extra dose of sad, followed by a pretty big dose of funny.

Jack...being the boy/2 year-old/non-thinker througher that he is shoved his head through a kitchen chair the other day.
Luckily I had seen an episode of Full House where this very thing happens so I knew just what to do!!
I buttered up his head and pulled.
His ears where a little bruised and a little greasy for a day but he has now made a full recovery.

jazz game

Why is it that I can't take normal pictures?
I know you are thinking I am talking about jack. I probably should be, but I'm not.
I'm talking about "super concentrated face" on the left.
I have it in every picture because I'm holding my arm out straight with an SLR trying to take a picture and look SO HAPPY at the same time.
hooray for new phone with camera on it.
bless, bless, bless, you.

These pictures are of us at a jazz game last weekend.
We have some lovely friends who gave us a few extra tickets and we got to take jack...
he FLIPPED!
He thought it was the best...including the dancers:(
i'm in for it.
He made BFFs with the people sitting next to us and ate most of their popcorn.
Luckily he's cute so they thought it was charming.
Love him!

Bicycle

Would you believe it if I told you that I just purchased my very first BIKE?
Isn't it so cute!?
See, there are six siblings in my family...I'm number 6.
We had plenty of bikes hanging around so I just used hand me downs.
SO
I learned to ride a bike on a purple banana seat bike from the 80s.
(it may be cool now, but trust me, back then it was. not.)
It was too big for me so once I was on the thing, I was great, but getting on and off was terrifying.
I had to stand on the curb and put the bike on the road so I could get on it and then hurry and pedal away before my tire hit the curb and I fell.
Getting off was worse.
Then when I finally outgrew that one, I had to ride my brother Patrick's bike.
which was a boy bike.
and lime green.
That was just asking the neighborhood kids to beat me up.
We had a hill by our house so I used to ride up the hill and then cruise down as fast as I could, riding the break the whole way down. I figured I would eventually wear the breaks out and they would HAVE to buy me a new bike.
After all, it was a matter of my safety.
Well, that bike must have been made of some type of military rubber because it never even came CLOSE to wearing out.
It made me tough.
Now I have a bright red girl bike.
So mike played hooky for a day, we went for a bike ride in liberty park and had a picnic.
I wouldn't say that it was a perfect day...except for that it WAS!
At least as close as it gets.
You need a day like that every once in a while to get you back on your feet.
It was lovely.

And I saw this girl and thought she was dancing...
I got it now.

Birthday Boy

We had a birthday boy in our house last week!!!
I had so many plans for spoiling him rotten but just about every one of them fell through and at the end of the day I think we had mostly just tortured him rotten.
It was amusing how things kept falling through.

But snow (which there was plenty of) or shine, we had fun celebrating this amazing person we are blessed to look at every day.

And there is so much to celebrate.
We really would sink without you...at least I would.
It has been so much fun (most of the time) watching you fill the shoes of a medical student.
Hearing you express simple gratitude for just being able to be a doctor and watching you become this well of strange medical terms and diseases.

I am so thankful for the pages of this marriage that I get to turn over ever day. With more to learn about you and discover with you. We are so glad to have you and I love you.

Happy Birthday

Frederick's Birthday

I couldn't decide which one of these I liked more so I decided both would get added.
The other one is at the bottom.
This picture says lots and lots to me.
It was an image that I took and immediately saw so much of my marriage and the way I see my Mikey.
I love it when my images show that much to me.

well, a little outing to st. george was in store because this last week was spring break for mike.
I was so spoiled to have him home!

i took a lot of pictures while we were there because it was rainy and cold quite a bit.
we went to this amazing natural hot springs outside of filmore.
It was SO warm which was perfect until we realized we forgot towels and it was SO not warm outside.

jack fell while I was getting BANGS on our way there and smashed up his little face.
(note the blue lips. these were taken post no towel hot spring incident)

molly. the dinosaur that hangs from the mirror in the car and reminds me to be brave.
jack asleep, stuffed animals lined up next to him and books close by. love this view.

jack: rocking the sun glasses and picking up rocks like a pro.

 love.
