i have perma-puke feeling.
Michael starts med school in ONE WEEK.
do you understand?
that is only 7 days
or 168 hours
or 10, 080 minutes.
whichever measurement of time you fancy,
it's not a long time.
I am starting to feel like it is going to be the beginning of the most miserable decade of my life.
which may sound dramatic,
but i have a hankering that it's not.
Don't worry,
I'll get all positive and excited when I have to,
but for now I am choosing to soak up the fear and let it sink in deep.
That way later when I should be freaking out,
i'll have already done all of the freaking.
i'm not crazy, it really works for me.
in the mean time,
i have two words for you.
finger.
painting.
I don't know why I thought it was a good idea to finger paint with my clean freak of a two year old,
but I did.
now I don't.

Haha! Love it! Maybe it's the age? Because my little Kiely is the same way, and she's not much younger than your little man. She doesn't like to get sticky or messy (although she does like to play in the dirt, which hasn't made sense to me!) and won't eat sticky finger foods by herself. Good luck with the med school stuff! I know you'll get through it and not go too crazy! :)
mckenzie! i seriously can't handle how dang cute you are. i really get so excited every single time i see a blog post from you. good luck with med school. you guys will do great. and you make me want to have a cute little boy and frame his finger paintings on the wall. i miss you.
i'm just catching up on all of your posts - fhe, the rodeo, finger painting - ALL of it! love it. and would you change your font already? am i the only one having trouble reading it? perhaps i should have my eyes checked - - or maybe michael can check them when he is done with med school!

That is hilarious! I've never known a kid to be a clean freak, but I guess that's a good thing!
Hahaha, I would have never thought a little boy wouldn't enjoy finger painting in his diaper. That looks like a heck of a good time!
